Ever feel that you’re being pulled in 100 different directions because of the little notification nightmare in your pocket?
Our world is full of distractions that can take up all of out time, if we let them. But interruptions aren’t all bad! Jonathan Thomas helps you see that there are interruptions that God can and does use to help His people draw closer to Him.
There are so many books out there that tell you to simply put down your phone and do x, y and z but this isn’t one of them. Thomas’s aim is not to simply get you off your phone but to help you see the wonderful life that you can live if you are interrupted the God intended.
The book is split into 2 parts: In the first part of the book you’ll explore some of the interruptions that often distract us and keep us busy, in the second part of the book you’re invited to explore 5 ways in which God might want His people to be interrupted for His glory.
Throughout this book you’ll find good theology with practical outworking that will help you, encourage you and convict you.
First of all Thomas give you 3 C’s that place your identity in the overarching narrative of Scripture: Creation, Cross and Consummation. In addition to that Thomas gives you 3 things that God has designed to help us remember our limitations as human beings: Sleep, Sabbath and Slowing.
Personally I was challenged by this book and it’s certainly one that I would like to return to again in the future. If you’re feeling the busyness of life, if the hustle and bustle of life is making you feel like you’re distracted and your spiritual life is being interrupted, this book will be a good read for you.
Get your copy here and let this little book help you or convict you, in a good way (I know I got a conviction kick from it!).
