Crazy to think it, but the last Olympic Games were four years ago. This year, particularly this summer, there are so many sports events going on and many people will be watching the Olympic Games set to take place in Paris later this year. Why does that matter? Because it’s an opportunity to speak directly into what people are thinking about and to use it as an evangelistic opportunity for Jesus and His glory.
Here’s a little giveaway booklet that will help. 10ofThose in partnership with Christians in Sport have put together a great little evangelistic booklet that tells the good news of Jesus using the story of Eric Liddell. Eric Liddell is a local hero here in Edinburgh who won the 400 meter race in the Paris 1924 Olympic Games. Liddell was actually due to race in to 100 meter sprint but it fell on a Sunday, due to his Christian faith and convictions, he refused to race. Instead taking on a longer, more difficult race.
Liddell was outspoken about his faith and gave God the glory for his speed, success and recognised Jesus as his motivation to run. This little booklet will catch peoples’ eyes, it’s short and to the point, initially starting with a bit of Liddell’s story and then getting to Jesus. I pray that this booklet will reach many people this year and I hope you do to. If you’re hosting a watching party, or you’re talking about the Olympics with folks or if you’re just looking for another resource to help you share Jesus, this will help.
