Saturday Snippets (July 11)

As well as reading a lot of books, I also read a ton of articles every week. Here are some of the articles that I’ve read recently and have found interesting, helpful, challenging and encouraging. I hope that they will be the same for you, my dear readers.

An interesting article by Tripp on workaholics and the church. I’m not convinced that everyone working hard has an identity issue, but he raises some good points and has good reflection questions to ponder.

This is a helpful article shedding some light on the life of a pastor’s wife. Scroggins gives practical tips for how women with more experience can mentor younger women and lifts your eyes to see the awesome God who has called an equipped His children.

Our main focus as Christians should be to glorify God in all things, that includes our presence on social media and our interactions on social issues. Do our lives match our words?

If you want to know what it’s like to be a pastor and some of the difficulties mixed in with the joys, read this article. Jared Wilson is a really good writer, you should read as much of his stuff as you can.

Pastors on Social Media

This is a helpful article by Jonathan Leeman about his own personal rules when using social media. I would encourage every pastor, and every Christian, to read this and consider how they use social media.
