As well as reading a lot of books, I also read a ton of articles every week. Here are some of the articles that I’ve read recently and have found interesting, helpful, challenging and encouraging. I hope that they will be the same for you, my dear readers…
Here’s a really interesting video review with Glen Scrivener and Tom Holland. Holland’s book ‘Dominion’ is a really fascinating read, if you’re interested in the impact Christianity has had on the world give it a read.
Buckle in for a conviction sandwich right here folks. Really helpful article that goes into what the sin of pride can look like in a person’s life.
“The Bible was never intended to be reduced to isolated events and individual stories that give us moralistic guidelines and proverbial advice. Don’t be mistaken, interpreting these bits and pieces plays an essential role, but only after understanding the sum total of these parts or the “big picture” of the Bible. Scripture tells one grand story, the story of redemption, and apart from that story much of the individual content could appear arbitrary or even absurd.”
“Writing is such a powerful means of personal growth, and I am glad that many pastors’ wives are using this as a way of exploring issues and growing in their knowledge, wisdom and faith, from which to be a blessing to others. But the imputed credentials of the “pastor’s wife” would rightly be seen as anachronistic in any other context. Of greater concern to me, however, is the subtle message that the many other women of godly faith and diverse life experience have somehow a less credible and valuable experience to explore and share. “
Here’s an interesting article that’s been doing the rounds on my Twitter feed this week. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter.
Here’s an introductory article to Amy Orr Ewing’s new book ‘Where Is God In All The Suffering?’. I haven’t yet read the book, but I thought this article, which is adapted from the book, is really helpful. The book is on my ‘to review’ shelf, so keep your eyes peeled for the review.
Oh how I long for that day, am I right?
Kris is a great writer who paints a wonderful picture of the glorious future that awaits the Lord’s people. Read and be encouraged.
Here’s a good starter article on what is a very touchy topic for many Christians today. Greaar covers a lot of ground in a short article, I’d like to see a more in-depth one but I’m sure that’ll come.
Christian ethics is a very relevant field of study that every Christian should engage with well, because we practically engage with it every single day whether we know it or not. Medical Marijuana is one issue that comes up often today.

“When our depression would have us believe that God is not worthy of our trust, He cannot be trusted, He must not be trusted: it’s precisely then that we are to call to mind the character of God. We must know Him best when we doubt Him most. And the only way that we can be sure to know Him is by studying His Word. We have to disciple.”
