Over the years I’ve seen many different note books and journals that each say they’re designed to help the reader with their spiritual life too. Some of them are good, other of them are super cheesy. But I’d like to introduce you to a journal unlike any other I’ve seen before and it is great! Sophie Killingley is a very talented artist, if you don’t already follow her on social media, you’re making a mistake.
Not only is Sophie a talented artist but now she goes and produces this journal that will help so many creative Christians bring their creativity into their spiritual life too!
First, cards on the table, I am not creative (but I shouldn’t say that because Sophie told me off in the introduction for that!). I cannot draw to save my life and my ‘doodling’ look like a two year old was handed a piece of paper. Nonetheless, I think even people like myself could find this journal helpful!
Sophie has made a bullet journal with a twist, it’s designed to cover a whole year with a monthly section (with creative prompts from Psalm 103 and Ephesians 1:1-14) with a spiritual habit tracker and a weekly section with a diary like format to help you think about your days and quiet times, with a good chunk set aside for Sunday sermon notes.
Not only will this journal be a daily prompt to remember God’s Word, verses for the week, prayer requests from others and whatever you want really, it will also be a tool that can help you bring your creativity and faith together.
The great thing about this journal is that there is no manual, you can use it however you want and in whichever way will help you most. This journal will be helpful but it’s also really beautiful. As an artist, Sophie has very clearly poured herself into this book and it looks great! There’s also plenty of empty pages for you to do the same. I would love to see my social media full of examples of how people have used their blank pages!
