Children need to be taught the hope of the gospel and the difference that Jesus makes in a persons’ life. This means teaching them the Bible, sound theology and teaching them about people who have been used by God in the past, and all of that needs to be done in an age-appropriate way. Tall order? Here are some resources to help…

Is Masturbation Sinful?

The other day I came across a post on social media, written by a Christian to a Christian group, in which the individual stated that they masturbated because it helped with their mental health. They threw the question to the group ‘is masturbation sinful?’ Naturally, what followed was a thread of comments with Christians on both sides of the debate. Some argued that it was wrong and shouldn’t be done by a Christian, whilst others argued along the lines of “If it’s good for you and you enjoy it, go for it”. Sadly, not many people actually turned to the Bible but instead just put forward their own opinion. So, here goes, is masturbation sinful?

Join in with my hobby…

Some people they enjoy watching sport. Others like to paint or get creative and make things. Others find their rest when they are around people all the time. I am an introvert and my health issues mean that noise and bright places are not my friends. So, reading has become my hobby over the years. You can always tell when I’m going through a particular stressful time, as I don’t blog as much. This past wee season has been like that. It’s been full-on and so my reviews have slipped sadly. Glory, Story and Culture; Living Well For Jesus in this World

Christian Focus have produced a series of short books for young people in partnership with Reformed Youth Ministries. These books are called student guides, which is confusing for those of us from the UK as a student is normally in University. But, we won’t hold it against them. These short books also have different focuses, some are on culture, others on Christian Life and some are on doctrine. Each book is designed to inform and equip young people to stand firm in their faith. The series is a helpful one, here are three newer additions…
